Here at Bobby V's Fake Stache, we strive to bring you, the reader/listener, the best in faux-hairpiece sports coverage. To continue this theme, we (BOC & myself) are launching our brand new NBA-centric podcast, Rick Barry's Toupee! Listen in weekly/bi-weekly during the NBA season & playoffs to hear our unique take on the sport & our favorite teams to watch and root for.
In our premiere installment, we catch up with a recap of the first quarter of the NBA season, talking about the best and worst squads along with the surprises of the season thus far. Be sure to listen in for our takes on the Dwight Howard saga, the burgeoning Clips/Lakers rivalry, and the nigh-unstoppable Oklahoma City Thunder. Also, we update you on the absurd chronicle of the Nuggets trapped in China, and give Kenneth Faried & Rudy Fernandez some props. Cheers!

The Gibbons & Cote in the Evening All-Star Spectacular
Gibbons & Cote in the Evening is back! In this newest episode, we talk about a few important recent events in sports (marathon Aussie Open final, Prince to the Tigers) and go on some awesome tangents (which I won't spoil for you, faithful listeners). Our main topic of discussion is the All-Star Game concept, and how we think each league handles their version of the idea. We rank the four ASGs and try and find ways to improve each game, except for the Pro Bowl, which should be mercy-killed. Enjoy!

Gervinho's Wig!
Continuing with our theme of great hair pieces in sports, Cote and I started the new soccer podcast "Gervinho's Wig," in homage to the great Ivorian Arsenal striker (and his wig). First episode is up: we talk El Clasico, Arsenal-Man U, Man City-Tottenham, Dempsey's hat trick and the Qatar bribe...I mean decision...to host the World Cup. Check it out!
Also here is Dani Alves' goal from today's matchup of El Clasico, just because

Movie of the Week Pod: Senna
In this new format for the Movie of the Week, we are launching a short podcast (around 10 minutes) to really give you our take on the movies you need to see. This week, for the premiere installment of the MotW podcast, I review Senna, a 2010 documentary chronicling the life and death of Formula One legend Ayrton Senna. The movie was spectacular, and really made me feel as though I was seeing Senna's career play out in real-time. The archival footage of F1 races that makes up a large portion of the film is outstanding. Cheers.

(Just kidding, I don't watch the MLS) Listen in for our teams, and be sure to let us know what you think by leaving comments on the post or on Facebook! Cheers.

Trouble Down Under?: The (Possible) Birth of a Tennis Union
As many (few? none?) of you may know, the tennis season has just recently begun again with the first major tournament of the year, the Australian Open. The Open is currently in the 3rd round, and there have been few upsets so far, unless you count Andy Roddick losing in the 2nd round of a Grand Slam an upset (I don't). I've been a tennis fan since I was in middle school and I have always enjoyed watching the sport, but the on-court action is not why I'm writing this post. The business of tennis is changing, and in the next year or so, there could be a major labor war being fought.

Gibbons Reviews: Alive 2007 by Daft Punk
(This isn't a review as much as me wanting to share my thoughts on an album with you.)
The music that most impresses me is music that changes my mind about something. Before Alive 2007, I did not think that electronic music could be great live. What are the DJs really doing up there? Are they just pressing play and letting the tracks go? What's live about that?
Then I heard Alive 2007. Alive 2007 is a live album taken from a concert in Bercy, France. It comes after Daft Punk released the amazing album Discovery in 2001 and the pretty underwhelming Human After All in 2005. I was unimpressed by Human After All, finding it too repetitive and feeling undeveloped. After hearing Alive 2007, I immediately forgave the '05 album. They left it undeveloped for a reason.

Gibbons Reviews: Camp by Childish Gambino
(I know I’m late to the Childish Gambino party and that this album came out months ago. But the truth is I’ve been listening to Camp since it first came out, I just never got around to writing down my thoughts on it. Ordinarily I would say, the time has passed, forget about it, but this album is too good to ignore.)
For those of you who don’t know, Childish Gambino is the rap stage name of actor/comedian Donald Glover (best known for his work on Community, which is a great show). I’ve always been a fan of Glover’s, dating back to his sketches with Derrick Comedy. Seriously, who can forget this gem? (If you thought that was good, check out some of their other sketches. I’m a big fan of the B-Boy Stance and Jazz Man videos) When I heard about Childish Gambino, I was intrigued. Camp went way beyond my expectations.

Gibbons & Cote in the Evening: Wild Card Weekend Preview
Welcome back! Gibbons & Cote in the Evening makes a grand return from the Christma-kwan-akuh break with blanket coverage of the NFL playoffs, with a focus on the upcoming Wildcard round this weekend. We break down and pick each game, and our AFC/NFC/Superbowl champs. I also rant about the New York Knicks' latest clunker against the Charlotte Bobcats & how the team can be fixed. Stay tuned until the end to hear our thoughts about an extremely rare feat accomplished by an American in English football! Cheers!
